Curveballs, Courage, and New Beginnings: A December to Remember

Well, this month has definitely been a test for me, with life throwing multiple curveballs my way.

Last week, I had my eye doctor’s appointment. Keep in mind that last year, I suffered a bleeding head injury that resulted in a concussion lasting two months. During the appointment, I discovered that my vision has significantly worsened to the point where I now need bifocals. On top of that, I’m being monitored for potentially developing glaucoma in my left eye, and it’s possible I have a tear in the same eye. If that’s the case, I’ll need laser surgery to repair it. I’m not even 30 yet, but I feel like I have the vision of someone in their 40s.

Then, last weekend, I had an unwelcome visitor show up. If my boyfriend hadn’t been there, I’m pretty sure the situation would have gone very differently if I had been alone. The last time I saw this person was over ten years ago. They’re a liar, an animal abuser, and a pedophile. I’ve made the decision not to do business with anyone associated with them, which unfortunately means I need to find a new farrier for my horses. But that’s a small price to pay to avoid the risk of someone gossiping about me to this unwelcome individual. Their presence here was unsettling, and it took me yelling at them to finally get them to leave. They even tried to bypass me to talk to my mom, ignoring my repeated demands to leave. It’s frustrating, but I’m proud of myself for standing my ground.

On a sadder note, I’ve been heartbroken this week because a bobcat got to two of my chickens and my female duck, Wednesday. To make matters worse, my rooster has become very aggressive and will attack, especially men. I suspect this behavior stems from my previous ex-boyfriend’s abuse of the animals both in front of me and behind my back. On a slightly brighter note, my turkey, Nicki, has become friendlier, although she still reacts strongly to anything that seems like aggression.

On a positive note, I had a unique opportunity this month to be a training model for someone learning to be a waxer. I nearly had a full-body wax, including a Brazilian, and didn’t have to pay since it was part of her training. I did tip both her and her trainer, and the experience was definitely worth it!

Tomorrow (the 21st), my boyfriend is taking me to Universal Studios to experience Hogwarts at Christmas, and I’m beyond excited! It’s such a wonderful way to end the month on a high note.

In addition, I’ve started the process with one of the nonprofits I’m affiliated with to get a service dog. This dog will help me drive safely again by assisting with my specific medical conditions. I’ll be doing a lot of personal fundraising to cover the costs of acquiring and training the dog, so keep an eye out for updates on that. I’m also relaunching my eco-friendly fundraiser soon!

Lastly, I’m planning to start live streaming after Christmas. I’m excited to dive into this new venture and share more content with you all.

Looking ahead, I’ve started thinking about my goals for the new year. One major focus will be improving my health—both physical and mental—by creating a sustainable routine that includes exercise, proper nutrition, and stress management. I also want to dedicate more time to my creative projects, such as developing new content for my live streams and website, while continuing to grow my eco-friendly initiatives. Another goal is to strengthen my connections with loved ones and community members, whether through events, collaborations, or simply being present. I’m determined to make 2025 a year of growth and positivity!

Happy Holidays!
