Wow, a lot has happened this month!
First, Beau and I celebrated our one-year anniversary at Piccola Trattoria here in Santa Clarita—and it did not disappoint! They even surprised us with a free dessert to celebrate. We didn’t go on the exact date of our anniversary because I wasn’t feeling well, but we went the following weekend and had such a special time together. It meant a lot since neither of us are the “fancy dinner all the time” type. I’ve dated that type before and honestly, I wasn’t impressed with the entitled attitudes that usually came with it.
Then this past Friday (the 26th), I coordinated a wedding at the beautiful Zachari Dunes Hotel & Resort. The day went great—the bride and groom were so happy, and their parents were too. I was in five-inch heels and a full-length black dress for over 12 hours, so let’s just say I’m currently recovering from the blisters. To top it off, someone almost stole my phone! It vanished and was later found abandoned on a baby changing table in the women’s restroom. I had to go home without it that night and tracked it back to the hotel on Snap Maps. Luckily, Beau called the hotel at 3AM, and an employee confirmed they had it.
My mom—on her birthday, no less—was kind enough to drive back to Oxnard to pick it up since Beau and I were exhausted. The birthday cake I ordered for her turned out gorgeous, and I was so happy it made her day extra special.
Despite the chaos, the wedding truly made up for everything. The groom was so pleased he tipped me an extra $100, and the bride reached out this morning to tell me how much she appreciated me as her coordinator. She even agreed to leave a review on my Yelp page, which means the world to me.
The days leading up to the wedding were rough, though. All in one day, Kingsley (one of my cats) had to be rushed to the vet for both an ear infection and a blood clot in his ear—$600 later. Then, that same evening, our living room TV literally fell apart. The screen just dropped out of the frame and shattered after four years of no issues. So Beau and I had to come together to replace it—$256 later. Life really tried to test me that week!
Thankfully, the wedding reminded me that all the stress was worth it, and things turned out beautifully. I also had a job interview for a veterinary receptionist position recently—we’ll see how that goes!
On top of everything, I’ve still been busy caring for the kittens I’m fostering. They’re officially ready for adoption now! 🐾 If you’d like to see them and maybe welcome one into your family, click here to look and possibly apply!
That’s all my updates for now—enjoy the pictures and videos!
